Agreeable Friends

My Sam
My night got a bit away from me, and since today turned out to be longer than I anticipated, I am going to keep it short & sweet.  To go along with my sweet (if not very goofy) dog here.  So, this one goes out to my dog lovers.  It's been awhile since I shared a pic of mine.

In a Moment Like This

Untitled
This is definitely one of those moments, do I share this, or do I make up a really cool story that has me looking very amazing and adventurous.  Okay, you know me too well - tell the truth it is.  So, this is definitely one of those moments when I am thankful for . . . my zoom lens!  It was quite an experience being as close as I was - and that was nowhere near this close.  Pretty amazing creatures.  I wish I was a better swimmer so I could get myself an underwater camera, some scuba gear and go swimming, and of course, photographing with the dolphins.  Maybe in another life.

That's Right I Dare Ya

Double Dog Dare Ya
Good evening everyone.  Hope you all had an enjoyable Wednesday.  Middle of the week and all.

This is a favorite of mine.  I can just imagine the conversations going on inside their heads.

"Dude, I'm telling you, the water is great.  Just jump in already."

or

"Really, I saw the ball go this way.  Right in there, can't you see it?"

These two dogs are so funny.  The bigger one toward the top of the photo is not all that crazy about swimming.  He will humor us and come in when we are in the pool.  The one that looks like he is ready to jump in, well, he loves the water and will gladly jump in for a quick lap to cool off.  I am telling you, total opposites those two!

One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.  ~ William Feather

Another Animal

Protect that Toy

Man cannot live by bread alone; he must have peanut butter.  ~ James A. Garfield
Just had to share the peanut butter quote with a dog pic because . . . have you ever seen a dog eat peanut butter?  It is one of the single funniest things I have witnessed.  Just thinking about it makes me smile.

Get Some Rest Now

Rest

Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job.  ~ Franklin P. Jones
Boy that is the truth with this particular dog.  He just loves to be touched.  You can see him relaxing when you pet him.  Which works out great for me, because I love to play with his super soft ears.

Today was a pretty long and tiring day - my husband and I were chaperone's for my son's school field trip.  It was lots of fun, but also lots of walking.  Which is good since we split a funnel cake at the festival we attended.  I do love me some funnel cake.  I think festivals are held strictly as an excuse to make, buy and eat funnel cake!  Yummy goodness.

A Fine Dog

That's the Spot

Money will buy you a fine dog, but only love can make it wag its tail. ~Richard Friedman
There is nothing quite like the appreciation you see in a dog's face when you scratch that one special spot.  The one that makes them melt - and squish their face up in pure joy.  That is one thing I love about dogs, they are not good at masking their true feelings.  When they are happy, you know it.  When they feel cornered and afraid, you know it.  When they are hungry, you know it.  There's not much guessing that needs to go on.  They are pretty simple - lots of food, lots of praise, a warm place to sleep and lots of love.  They are all good.

Sam & The Lobster

Serious Business
It's been awhile since I shared some pics of the dogs.  This one has been processed and sitting in my folder of ready to post pics for quite some time.  I guess tonight is the night for posting.

If I remember right, it was a couple Christmases ago that this stuffed lobster was brought to the dogs by Santa.  He's very good to our goofy dogs.  And they just loved this lobster.  That is until Sam removed all his stuffing.  Poor lobster.

Through The Looking Glass, Sort of . . .

The Big Win at the Carnival
I know I've heard that title before.  Not sure if it's a movie or a book or both.  Either way, I've never seen it or read it.  I think maybe it was a thriller or something like that.

This was taken within the past month.  One of those moments when my son would let me take his picture.  He always seems to be more willing when he knows it's going to be something different.  And for that I am glad.  For me, it's always just a little more fun to not only photograph things that I find interesting, but to include people that I care about makes it just that much more special.

My last few quotes have opened up a few discussions - which I've enjoyed.  I like hearing other people's perspectives - that is as long as they are not starting a conversation with the single purpose of showing me that I am wrong.  That drives me crazy.

So I think there are a few more words that deserve a better look.  And, we will get to those each in their own time.  Like I said the other night, judgemental is something that is very hard to talk about without getting into other emotions and feelings and "words" the get all lumped together.

But for tonight, here is a wise quote that always makes me smile.  Enjoy:

Wisdom doesn’t automatically come with old age. Nothing does - except wrinkles. It’s true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place. ~ Abigail Van Buren

Dogs and Star Wars

Untitled
The first step to correcting a mistake is patience. ~ from Star Wars The Clone Wars

I finished my book today and cannot wait to get started on the next one. I am reading the original books from the original Star Wars movies. My brother, Kelly, loaned me his copies. (And after I finish the next one I am on to the books that Diana loaned to me.) They are from, well a long time ago. I mean the pages are yellowing and everything. I can remember seeing them in his room as a child and really wanting to read them someday. I'm not sure he ever knew that.

We have been trading books back and forth for the past few years. He gets me into series and then I get him into series. It's been very fun. So, earlier today I finished reading The Empire Strikes Back. Definitely not my favorite movie from the saga. Although after reading the book I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I'm very excited to begin reading the next one - Return of the Jedi. That is my favorite movie of all six. We will see if the book is as good. I am feeling a bit tired tonight and may not be able to keep my eyes open long enough to get started on it tonight. We will see.

And for tonight, please enjoy this simple picture of my boys (dogs) again. They are more than willing to have their pictures taken. Especially if there are treats waiting for them!

Have a great Wednesday and see you tomorrow!

It really is that simple

Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain – and most fools do.  But it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving. ~ Dale Carnegie
Here we are another evening. Tonight I decided to go back to a favorite subject of mine. My dogs. Or as they are affectionately called in our house - the boys.

I've always been a dog person. And, I'm pretty sure that you have figured that out by now. They are so very easy to please. Some water, some food and some scratching every day and they are happy as can be. It doesn't take much. Simple.

If only we could be so simple with each other. Some kind words, some smiles and laughter, some looking out for each other. Simple.

I have decided to post here again.  I have been using my website for posting for the past few months.  If you would like to get caught up, be sure to visit my website.
